
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco (American professional soccer player) is striker. She also is captain of San Diego Wave FC of National Women's Soccer League, the highest division of women's soccer in the United States. From 2018 to 2020, she was co-captained by the women's soccer national soccer team along with Megan Rapinoe. [8][98][9] Morgan was selected number one in the Western New York Flash's 2011 WPS Draft shortly after she was able to graduate early from University of California, Berkeley. Morgan played for the California Golden Bears. She made her debut at the club , and also helped the team win their league championship. Morgan aged 22 at the time, was the youngest player in the national squad at the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup, which the team finished second. In the 2012 London Olympics she scored the match-winning goal in the 123rd minute of the semi-final clash against Canada. She finished 2012 with 28 goals, 21 assists, and Mia Hamm was the only American woman to score 20 and 20 goals. She was the 6th-youngest U.S. player ever to reach 20 goals in one season. She was then awarded the U.S. Soccer Female Athlete of the Year , and was also a FIFA World Player of the Year finalist. Morgan contributed to helping to help the United States win the title at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups. Morgan was named to the Dream Team in both tournaments. In 2019, Morgan won the Silver Boot.
